CelluSmooth uses laser technology to burst, melt, and tighten cellulite. The burst, or high-energy, mode uses lasers pulses underneath the skin to “burst” through the fibrous bands responsible for dimpling of the skin. The melt, or mid-energy, mode targets deposits of fat that are visible on the skin. Then, the tighten, or low-energy, mode uses heat to target collagen and tighten the skin.
CelluSmooth is performed under local anesthesia. Recovery time is minimal; patients can generally resume normal daily routines after a few days. A compression garment should be worn over the treated area for several weeks post treatment. Patients can expect to be back to their regular, high intensity exercise within two to four weeks. Side effects from CelluSmooth may include slight bruising or swelling in the area treated. This is normal and will disappear within a few weeks. Pain is usually mild and can be treated with Tylenol or prescription medications if necessary.
Patients may see some results immediately, but maximum results will appear gradually over a period of three to six months post treatment.
Candidates for CelluSmooth should be in good physical health and have an average body weight. Those with excessively loose skin will not benefit from CelluSmooth.
