Patient in Cleveland asks, “What are the benefits to Ultherapy vs. forehead lifting?”
At Seriously Skin Cosmetic and Laser Medicine, serving the Cleveland area, our experienced doctors and professional team believe in offering the most advanced, effective, and safe technologies, procedures, and products to help our patients to achieve their optimal health and skincare goals.
At some point in life, we all experience the effects of aging, such as skin laxity. Frown lines, sagging cheeks and neck, lines and wrinkles, and loss of facial fullness can make us look and feel older. As we age, our bodies don’t produce as much collagen as before, causing the skin to loosen. Many patients may have felt that face or forehead lifting with plastic surgery was the only option, and one associated with some medical risks, scarring, or significant downtime.
Ulthera, also called Ultherapy, is the only non-invasive treatment approved by the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) to lift the skin under the chin, and the eyebrows and neck. It has also recently been cleared for treatment of décolletage wrinkles and lines.
Ultherapy uses safe and effective ultrasound technology, which has been valued in medical applications for decades, to stimulate the body’s natural production of elastin and collagen. As collagen is regenerated, over a few months, the skin lifts and tightens, smoothing out wrinkles, creases, and lines. Ultherapy is effective for men and women and is performed in less than an hour in our spa-like office.
Areas that may be treated with Ultherapy include:
- Under the chin
- Eyebrow area
- Cheeks and jawline
- Around the eyes
How it works
Ultrasound energy is delivered into the layers of the skin on the area being treated. A slight, temporary heating sensation may be felt as the energy activates the collagen production. Then the body’s natural chemistry takes over, and results appear over several weeks to about three months.
Ultherapy vs. face or forehead lifting
Unlike plastic surgery face lifts or forehead lifting, Ultherapy is not a painful procedure, nor does it require any healing time, incisions or drains, medical risks, or potential scarring.
