What are spider veins?

Veins carry blood back to the heart after the blood delivers nutrients and oxygen throughout the body through the arteries. Blood traveling through the veins is being pushed against gravity. Valves in the veins stop the backward flow. If the valves weaken, the blood can pool back into the veins, creating a blue or red web-like appearance, known as spider veins.

Spider veins, medically termed telangiectasias, are caused by a buildup of blood, or they may result from certain risk factors, such as:

  • Sun overexposure
  • Inactivity or prolonged standing, sitting, or crossing legs
  • Hormonal fluctuations from pregnancy, puberty, menopause, or estrogen or progesterone
  • Aging
  • Family genetics
  • Being overweight

Spider veins and varicose veins often form in the legs because of the pressure of body density, gravity, and distance from the heart.

VeinGogh is a safe and effective, minimally invasive spider vein treatment. The technology uses precisely controlled energy, which is delivered through its Microburst technology. Small bursts of high-frequency energy target affected blood vessels with an ultra-thin probe without visibly affecting surrounding tissue. When these repetitive pulses enter the vessels, energy converts to controlled heat which causes the blood to coagulate and the vessel to collapse.

This compact and portable device has been approved by the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and it achieves positive patient results immediately, with minimal discomfort and no downtime.

VeinGogh has been gaining popularity thanks to satisfied patients and coverage in national, regional, and local media.
