Asclera Chagrin Falls - Asclera Both men and women are susceptible to the development of varicose veins, which are blood vessels that have become swollen or enlarged because of weakened vein walls. They are both cosmetically unappealing and can have adverse medical effects. They can be harmful because they can result in phlebitis (tender veins that become inflamed), clots, and venous stasis ulcers. It is unknown what causes varicose veins (and similar spider veins) but it is believed that changes in hormones and genetics are factors that can contribute to these conditions. Over 40 percent of older women experience varicose veins. They can be troublesome for many patients, but can be treated with Asclera.

Asclera is injected directly into the veins during a treatment known as sclerotherapy. Using a small needle, this solution is injected into the vein to encourage it to close. The blood flowing through this vein will redirect into healthy veins, while the destroyed vein is absorbed back into the body.

Patients undergoing sclerotherapy may need to have multiple sessions to treat varicose veins effectively. Injections are scheduled a month or more apart to allow healing between treatments. More than one vein may be treated during a sclerotherapy appointment, but patients will need several sessions to see optimum results from Asclera.

Aftercare is simple. Patients are encouraged to wear support hose and bandages for a few days after their treatment, up to about one week. Exercise such as walking is encouraged to speed recovery. Patients may experience side effects including swelling, bruising, changes in pigmentation, temporary new blood vessels, redness, and soreness. Many of these conditions will subside within a few days, and very few complications are experienced with Asclera and sclerotherapy.

Patients in the Cleveland, Ohio area who are considering sclerotherapy should visit the team at Seriously Skin to learn more about Asclera and understand how it can help with troublesome varicose veins. Patients can take charge of their condition, feel more comfortable, and improve their quality of life with sclerotherapy treatment.
